About Me
I’ve always known I was meant to be a written communicator, but I didn’t always know I was meant to be a technical one. I stumbled into technical writing when my mom sent me an Instagram ad for Portland State’s Master’s in Technical and Professional Writing program. She said, “You’d be good at this.” So, I acted out of courage and applied.
Since then, I’ve built a foundation in hard skills like translating complex scientific ideas into short articles, DITA/XML authoring, HTML+JavaScript basics, accessibility tagging, AI-generated content analysis, heuristic evaluations, and user research. I’ve also learned what it truly means to be a user-centered writer through academic scholars who have helped shape this professional field.
In this portfolio, you’ll find examples of the hard skills I mentioned above, and you’ll see how these skills were shaped alongside my growth as a user-centered writer, grounded in clarity and care.
I suppose it’s true what they say; mothers really do know best.
