Content Strategy & Design

Translating Scientific Yoga Research into Engaging Content

I researched, wrote, and edited three articles about the practice of yoga. I strategized ways to explain peer-reviewed research for mainstream yoga audiences using tactics like plain language, metaphors, and imagery. These articles display both my passion for writing and yoga, serving as a bridge for complexity and clarity for audiences that don’t keep up with the scientific community of yoga.

Accessible Educational Materials for WIC Families

WIC Washington County partnered with me to improve the design and clarity of the educational handouts given to participants after health appointments. I conducted a content audit and created a recommendation report using universal design principles and informational heuristics. After interviewing a WIC practitioner, I identified gaps in both content and usability. We’re now developing new handouts on topics like toddler portion sizes, tummy time, and post-partum care, each designed with a clear hierarchy, thoughtful layout, and user-focused messaging.

The California Reentry Institute (CRI): Content Creation

To help the California Reentry Institute strengthen its social media presence, I led a content project that focused on tone, voice, and message clarity. My goal was to craft user-centered content that reflected CRI’s mission of personal transformation for formerly incarcerated individuals. As part of the solution, I wrote and produced five short-form monologue videos for the Executive Director to use in newsletters, donor outreach, and special campaigns.

Gen Z Workplace Flyer: Complexity to Clarity

I implemented plain language practices, informational design heuristics, and usability principles in the creation of this document to effectively present this information so that it is easy to understand.
