UX Research & Testing

UX Review of PSU’s Farmers Market Website

I conducted a heuristic evaluation of the Portland Farmers Market website to assess its usability and accessibility. Using Jakob Nielsen’s 10 Usability Heuristics and the Shriver heuristic for information design, I identified areas for improvement in layout, clarity, and cognitive load. My recommendations included simplifying page structure with accordion menus, improving recall through visual aids like infographics, and enhancing accessibility with clearer language and screen reader support. This project allowed me to apply UX principles to a real-world site and offer user-centered design solutions grounded in research.

Oregon Health and Sciences (OHSU) User Research Report

To support accessibility for users with Limited English Proficiency (LEP), my team conducted a usability study of OHSU’s website for the Director of Language Services. We combined heuristic evaluation with remote usability testing to assess health literacy, translation barriers, and user frustration. Based on our findings, we delivered a slide deck of actionable recommendations, including adding language attributes to the site’s code, consolidating language service content, and integrating an in-site translation tool to improve the experience for LEP users.
